P90X Results

I am finished with the P90X workout program. I was not looking to lose weight or gain muscle per se, I just wanted to feel more athletic and agile, like I did when I was younger and did sports all the time. It took me a bit longer than the 13 weeks they plan out. Overall I would say I stayed on the nutrition plan 85% of the time and the exercises routines about 90% of the time.

Here are my results:

STARTING MEASUREMENTS

Bodyfat 15.4%
Bodyweight 175 lbs
Fat 26.95lbs Lean Body Mass 148.05lbs

ENDING MEASUREMENTS

Bodyfat 14.0%
Bodyweight 167 lbs
Fat 23.38lbs Lean Body Mass 143.62lbs

CALCULATIONS

100 - 175/167 = 1% drop in weight
175 - 167 = 8 lbs drop in weight

100 - 15.4/14 = 1.1% drop of bodyfat percentage
26.95 - 23.38 = 3.57lbs drop in fat

100 - 148.05/143.62 = 1% drop of lean body mass
148.05 - 143.62 = 4.43lbs drop in lean body mass (muscle)

CONCLUSION

I ended up losing body fat, overall weight, and muscle on this program. I do feel a bit more agile and cardiovascularly fit, but also weaker. I don't really feel like I was eating enough. Overall it was a good experience and I feel like now I have a good starting point to get a little stronger, only this time I can do it slowly and carefully. It is nice to feel agile and a bit younger.
